How To Join Indian Defense Forces :-
Indian women have proved their mettle in the armed forces also. Though they still can't take part in combat operations ,they are considered eligible to handle a wide range of jobs in different departments in the three wings.
PERMANENT COMMISSION(PC) : When you opt for 'Permanent Commission', you are basically looking at a permanent career in Indian Defiance Forces. A career till you retire.
SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION(SSC):Indian Defense Forces has an alternative for all those of you who aspire to serve it for a few years. It is called Short Service Commission. It gives you the option of joining the Indian Defense Forces and serve it as a Commissioned Officer for 5 years. Once your tenure is over, you are allowed to opt for a Permanent Commission. Alternatively, you can also ask for a 5 year extension and can choose to resign from your post any time during this period.
INDIAN ARMY
Officers Training Academy(OTA) is where you go once you are selected for the Short Service Commission.
The Indian Army offers the Women Special Entry Scheme for technical, non-technical & a notification for recruitment is issued every 6 months.Non-technical entry is possible to the Army Service Corps, Army Ordinance Corps, Signals, Corps of Engineers & Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering by virtue of a BA,BSc(PCM),BCom or BCA with min. 60% & min. 50% if you have an NCC 'C' certificate with 'B' or higher grad
Technical entry to the Corps of Engineers, Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering & Signals is possible with a BE/BTech in civil/electrical/mechanical/electronic/computer science /telecommunications or architecture.
For special entry to the Army Service Corps, Army Education Corps & Intelligence Corps a PG degree with 50% marks in organic chemistry/biochemistry/microbiology/physics/math's/computer applications/English/history or a PG diploma in personnel management/material management/hotel management (&/or catering technology)/mass communication/journalism or public relations from a recognized institutes required.
Selection is done on the basis of SSB interview.
