HOW  TO  JOIN  INDIAN  DEFENSE FORCES

INDIAN  ARMY

          PERMANENT  COMMISSION : When you opt for 'Permanent Commission', you are basically looking at a permanent career in the army. A career till you retire. NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY (NDA) & INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY(IMA) are the two institutions that you can join for Permanent Commission.

NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY ,PUNE  :

 1.Eligibility Conditions :    

You can apply even as you are in class 12th because the entry process takes over a year and by the time you are through, you would have cleared class 12th.

INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY ,DEHRADUN  :

       SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (SSC) : The Indian Army has an alternative for all those of you who aspire to serve it for a few years. It is called Short Service Commission. It gives you the option of joining the Indian Army and serve it as a Commissioned Officer for 5 years. Once your tenure is over, you are allowed to opt for a Permanent Commission. Alternatively, you can also ask for a 5 year extension and can choose to resign from your post any time during this period. OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY (OTA) is where you go once are selected for the SSC.
